The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) supports the University policy prohibiting discrimination and harassment of any person on the basis of their membership in a protected category. As part of this work, OPHD responds to complaints from persons who believe they have been subjected to discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation on the basis of a protected category or activity. Because of a recent California appellate court ruling, the University has revised its Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Student Adjudication Framework to clarify when hearings are held to resolve sexual misconduct cases. The Systemwide Title IX Office and Student Affairs has developed a presentation to help educate UC community members about the changes.
